Call Of Duty II
Ok, this week, we'll look at something more interesting. This week's Call of Duty myth is whether one can sprint and run through a MG42's wave of lead.
Blah, blah, don't complain, our observations, blah. You've heard it before.
Anyway, remember the Stalingrad level of Call of Duty? Fun running past those MG nests, huh? Now, what I heard was that if one sprints at the exact right time, you can also avoid being riddled with holes like a two by four in a construction company. And naturally, we had to test it out.
So, we chose the "Rocket" level, using the MG42 in the corner, and running from the nearby bunker to behind the rockets. Simple enough.
The first attempt: No damage! The runner recieved no damage in the short jog. I was amazed. Maybe it was true after all!
But, the second and third attempts destroyed that hope. Both times, the poor runner was gunned down seconds after leaving the safety of cover.
So, what have we learned? That nothing short of good cover can protect you from a MG42. Sprinting does NOT work. At all. The explanation for the results of the first test? I chalk it up to adjusting to the speed of the runner. The sudden increase in speed may throw off a MGer's aim, and make it seem as if sprinting helped dodge the bullets. So, that's today's Call of Duty crap.
